About me
Pryvit once again! I'm an archivist, web developer, and former graphic designer based in Dnipro, Ukraine.
I got into web development so I could divide by zero (and even by negative zero!) without being chased by my math teacher. Okay. That's not the only reason. I got interested in the web in high school when I built my first webpage using tables and floats. A lot has changed since then, but I've only grown more fascinated by the web. It's creative, challenging, and constantly evolving.
It's for everyone.
—Tim Berners-Lee
In my work, I focus on the fundamentals: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript, with Node.js and Git in the toolbox. For content-driven websites, I prefer Astro. I'm learning React, too, mostly as a long-term investment.
I prioritize accessibility, responsiveness, and progressive enhancement. I want my websites to work well for everyone, regardless of their abilities, devices, or connection speed. I'm also continually refining how I think about the web through the work of pioneers such as Kevin Powell, Miriam Suzanne, and Andy Bell.
Away from the screen (well… mostly), I play single-player games, discover music, meditate, walk in the nearest forest, or read a good book™. I'm interested in privacy, art, and Lego. And yes, I'm chronically online on YouTube.
Questions
Archivist and web developer? How does that work?
Better than you'd think. Both jobs are about making things last and keeping them findable. I also get great coffee at both.
Do you use AI?
Not in my editor. I like understanding my own code.
What languages do you speak?
English, Ukrainian, and Russian.
Are you available for work?
Yes. But I'm choosy about projects. I care more about doing a good job than doing a lot of it. Contact me and tell me what you're building.
Do you like coffee?
Sure thing.
